After a professional career with private companies and the World Bank, I joined the ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) in 1985 as a Water and Sanitation Engineer. I was then head of the Training Division and later of the Assistance Division. I coordinated the HELP (Health Emergencies in Large Populations) courses in partnership with the WHO and various universities. I also managed a project to provide the ICRC with a training and meeting centre in Ecogia (Geneva).
Since the creation of CYC partenaires in January 2013, I have been working as a consultant for non-governmental organisation projects and I regularly lead training sessions related to humanitarian work as well as drinking water and its governance. I also facilitate seminars and meetings in Switzerland and abroad.
As a metaphorist, I like to base my reflections and analyses on examples from the field in a variety of cultural contexts. I like to combine common sense with humour.
I am convinced that good project planning is the key to success.
